API Key Request

To acquire an API key for the BC Address Geocoder, complete the steps below.

Instructions:

1. Open the API Service Portal.
2. Click the login button in the top right corner of the screen and select the Developer option.
3. Login with an IDIR account, GitHub account, or a BC Services Card.
4. Click on the API Directory tab.
5. Click on the BC Address Geocoder Web Service panel link.
6. Scroll down and click on the Request Access button beside BC Address Geocoder (Public) (not the button for BC Address Geocoder Parcels)
7. In the next screen, click the ‘+’ button to create an entry for your application or script.
8. Within the same screen, select which API Environment you need access to.
9. Click the Request Access button.
10. In the next screen click the Generate Secrets button to create an API key for the BC Address Geocoder.
11. Next, our team will be notified and grant your API key to the BC Address Geocoder. Following that, you will receive a confirmation email.
