- Step 3: Choose to go Single or Multi-Cloud
- Step 4: Establish cloud KPIs
- Step 5: Establish performance baselines
- Step 6: Prioritize migration components
- Step 7: Perform any necessary refactoring

- Step 9: Switch over production
- Step 10: Review application resource allocation
Step 1: Establish the migration-architect role
Before you begin your cloud migration, you will need to designate a migration architect to lead the effort. This role is a system architect-level position responsible for planning and completing all aspects of the migration. You will need your migration architect to:
- define necessary refactoring required to make the migration successful,
- design strategies for data migration,
- define cloud-solution requirements, and
- determine migration priorities and production switchover mechanisms.
A migration architect is critical to the success of your project. During your migrations there are seen complications, unforeseeable decisions and technical plans your architect can solve.
